Singapore observes a range of holidays that are based on ancient calendars, so the dates of holidays may vary. When they do, we will update this page with the latest announcements.
To ensure that Singapore’s employers, employees and students are certain of 2018’s holiday dates, the Ministry of Manpower publishes a list of public holidays in advance. The Ministry of Manpower recognises 10 holidays each year, and they are expected to formally announce the 2018 public holidays sometime in 2017.
If a celebration falls on a weekend, the public holiday is pushed to the following Monday. This method ensures that the Singaporean people can enjoy a day away from work or school for every official holiday.
