Mother’s Day 2024, 2025 and 2026
Singapore celebrates Mother’s Day on the second Sunday in May just like many nations do. This special day is widely celebrated by most Singaporeans, although it is not an official public holiday.

Mother’s Day is all about children honouring their mother and expressing to her how much she means to them. Common ways children do this include giving flowers, a card, a gift, or a phone call if unable to meet on the day.
It’s also pretty customary to take your mother out to a fancy dinner in Singapore or at least to provide her with one at home. And many also get out of doors and go on walks or beachside picnics with Mum and the whole family.
Mother’s Day began in the US at the turn of the twentieth century. And in both the US and Singapore this holiday has evolved to be very commercialised. Apart from all the gifts and restaurant bookings, there are numerous concerts, luncheons, and special events going on throughout the city every Mother’s Day. The whole island is bustling with activity.
